Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.
Old Way Fellowship is a community of believers brought together with a passion for the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
The vision of Hopeland was always meant to be built around a community of believers being equipped and able to minister to the families that come to us.
As a mission to the Body of Christ, we don’t meet on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Many in our fellowship are active members of other local church bodies. We view our meetings as a time where the Spirit of God is given total freedom and time. These meetings are times of equipping and refreshing that we believe allows people to go to their home churches able to minister more effectively.
Old Way Fellowship has been meeting in Mandarin on Friday nights. At some point our gatherings will be at Hopeland once a building is put in place.
The name Old Way Fellowship came about while typing (Connor’s current method for communicating). Connor kept referring to the place where he found peace…where he found God. For Connor, it is a place born of necessity where he has survived the challenges of his life. Connor says “ the old way is where I go to hang onto God where he hangs onto me and I hang onto him. If it were not for the old way, I would be dead. “
We realized that the Old Way was Connor’s way of describing the realm of the Spirit.
Theologically this is expressed throughout the Bible in the Hebrew word, olam, and aeion. Perpetual, eternal, everlasting, time out of mind, the vanishing point ,ancient, before time, eternity, hidden or concealed.
It is the hidden or concealed presence of God in this world.
We are realizing that the power the early church carried, and their impact on culture was in large part due to these understandings, and their ability by grace through faith to apply them.
That is at the heart of Old Way Fellowship.
We acknowledge the deity of the Godhead and embrace the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. He is our Instructor, Comforter, and our Intercessor.
Is our primary purpose. Everything we do flows from it.
We are a people of prayer and intercession. All of our ministries are birthed from the place of prayer and intercession.
We have a deep caring for families affected by autism. We understand the unique challenges they face and are prepared to minister to the family as a whole. The Lord desires to change misconceptions and bias around this issue and bring healing through His power to this community.
Is Our Motivation
We are committed to do the best with what we have. When doing all things as if unto God, everything is sacred.
As a final demonstration of His Love Jesus set an example of leadership when he washed the disciples feet. From the pulpit, to the nursery, we strive to be servant-leaders. We believe the Church is most healthy when humble hearts lead.
Radical faith Is Our Lifestyle.
We boldly contend for unfulfilled promises and take daring risk to help people embrace their destiny. We believe that radical faith brings unprecedented blessing and activates times of refreshing from the Presence of the Lord.
Radical faith is not denial but refusal to accept anything but the report of the Lord.
We embrace all the Spiritual Gifts of 1st Corinthians chapter 12, Romans 12, and the five fold ministry of Ephesians 4:11-19. We see the earliest Ekklesia as described in Acts is our model. Influencing culture through demonstrations of Power by Holy Spirit is our great commission.
Is our Objective.
God’s divine nature is defined in Scripture as the fruit of the Spirit. These fruits are heaven's DNA sown and grown in the soil of redeemed humanity. Spiritual gifts empower our life, spiritual fruit defines our character.
God’s Love is the touchstone of our faith. It is the force of divine optimism and the seed of all miracles. His Love is an act of endless forgiveness that brings comfort and healing to a hurting world. We are convinced the power of Love never fails and conquers all things.
Are the Future.
Cultural transformation is our mission and is multi- generational.
Is Our Foundation- Jesus is The Word made flesh. The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God given through His Spirit to his body.
